First off, I must say how I extremely love historical
fiction. This story however… I cannot say if I love it or if I hate it. I’m
saying it is too soon to tell. I believe the author has potential, without a
doubt. I’m letting the author know I will not go easy on him/her— or any author
for that matter, when it comes to historical fiction.
You have to do your research. As much as I like the
originality of this plot. I also appreciate when authors do their research
about REAL historical events. It shows effort and dedication and that’s what I
like to see.
There’s spelling and grammatical errors that need fixing. It
is also very dry, needs a lot more detail and passion. I feel little to no
passion, sadly. Also I feel it would be better if written in first person. This
story— or this writer— needs to find their style and I don’t believe writing in
third person is good for this story. As of now you read it like a history textbook
and I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. I believe majority of
readers will see it as bad.
I have nothing more to say. All I can hope is that this
story will get better. As said, it is too soon to tell. This story has caught
my interest and I look forward to the potential that I see in this story and
the author. Interesting plot, I recommend it to those interested in Camelot and
King Arthur.
