Serendipity

This is an awesome fantasy story filled with romance, mystery, tragedy, angst and more. It is something I really enjoyed reading and I recommend it to all. I know the whole story of mutants saving the world has been done, but this seems so original and done in a whole new fresh way. I can’t wait until the plot picks up the pace.

The grammar and spelling needs slight work, along with the chapters being slightly longer and the author needs to be a bit more descriptive. Overall these problems are very minor. Again, I find the story very original and I like that.

You could say it’s a little too melodramatic, but I’d be a hypocrite if I said that since I tend to write stories like this. Seriously, I think it’s taken a little bit overdone with the drama feels good, the emotions, but the entire not speaking and dressing in black, keeping her face unseen… Is way out there. Whole new level of angst and drama, but maybe that’s what gives this story that spooky character.

I recommend this story, the summary was done really well it can pull readers in and the rest of the story keeps them reading. The chapters are short but at least something happens to continue the plot and it’s not unneeded fillers. Overall it’s a story worth checking out, I personally love it.

Strings of Harmony

This story… Has a very talented author. It is very well written, the spelling and grammar is about perfect. Which is impressive and I appreciate the effort. This is placed in the Teen Fiction Humor genre and I applaud the author, for it is the perfect and star story for this genre.

However, personally it bored me. It is a good story; it’s just my personal opinion that there is no plot to this. No good plot, at least… again, in my opinion. The only thing I enjoyed was the humor, or rather entertainment. It’s good for a small giggle, but nothing really more than that.

If you like stories about bands and music competitions, than this story is for you, but it’s not for me. The pacing needs to pick up, I honestly find chapters were too long and pointless at times. The beginning was good, but after reading on and on I  got bored.

I can say I recommend this story for the author’s amazing ability, I enjoyed reading it for that matter as well, it’s just something I personally will not continue to read. This type of story, even as well written and funny as it is, will only appeal to the right. I wish this author luck and hope she goes far.

Secrets Unfold

I kind of wish this wasn’t a vampire story, but I know it will become popular because of that. It’s just my personal opinion. I can say that this story is deep and intense. Even though the plot is still in the early stages and unfolding. The mystery is wonderfully amazing. Keeps me hooked.

I feel it has much potential. I admire the author’s talent, it’s well written besides the minor spelling and grammatical errors. This story needs more fans, I really find it brilliant, but the author needs to pick up her updating. That’s how you lose readers in my experience. So needs to be update more, grammar, spelling worked on and pick up pacing just slightly.

Overall I found this a story has much talent. The author is great at description and portraying her character’s emotion. I was very much impressed by the first chapter, but slowly felt disappointed with the rest of the story, so I hope the author gets back to what she was doing in the first chapter. The story and emotion just felt so more real and raw in that chapter. The author has amazing talent so why I will be holding her in high expectations. Give this story a read; it’s one to get into while you don’t have to catch up much.

Ten Years Later

I love this story. I enjoyed it and think it’s very cute. Any girl should be able to relate this even a little. If you want a love triangle romance… this is the story for you. the author does a very good job and delivering this story. Very good descriptions along with letting her readers feel the emotions her characters feel. I applaud the author’s natural talent.

The negatives, the spelling and grammar needs work. Edit before you update because you will be too busy writing the next chapter to go back and edit the last. Trust me I learned that from experience.

This story reminds me way too much of the movie, Sweet Home Alabama. I won’t ever accuse of it being a rip-off because sometimes it’s coincidence. The author can make this into her own story. Other than that it’s a great story and to the author, get a little more confidence…

No need to be asking your readers if it’s good or bad all the time. They will review their honest opinion and when they do fix your errors, don’t delete a story because everything you write can have potential. This author has a talent to write romances, so I will be looking forward to more from her.

Fifteen Letters

Phenomenal. Not what I suspected. I thought this would be a sappy romance about 'fifteen love letters". Nope. I love how this is said to be a true story. So well done, so amazing every word fits so perfectly. I applaud the author for putting this out in the world. The emotion is raw. It squeezes your heart tight and releases it, every heart string feels a little pull. Sad, intense and touching is how I can describe it.

I hate to judge, but it seems to be something petty to kill yourself over someone rejecting you because they think you're gay. What I’m presuming, the plot has yet to unfold and I hope there’s a lot more to this true story. I won’t judge, pain is pain and I admire the writer for putting this out there.

No negative, the author is very talented, but I wish it wouldn’t be so repetitive. Yes, a little bit. Repeating fifteen letters over again and reliving that painful memory is a great fill and really brings the story together, but let’s step-up the pacing. I really enjoy this story and I want to see it become a renowned true story.

That in of itself makes it even more breath taking. Leaves you in a cold sweat that I love to feel when reading a story. I personally don’t like the ABC Family cast choices, but it’s cute and works I suppose. Overall this is a great story I will recommend for it has potential if it goes the way I hope it does. I know it’s hard since the author will want to stick with what really happened, but how the author delivers these events is what I hope will impress me and other readers.

Regrets

This story is delivered well in a way… I love the author’s style and natural talent, but the spelling, grammar and organization needs a lot of work. The chapters need some major editing. It’s not professional, but at least the author has talent. The summary hooked me in, even though it also was not well written.

I can say I like this story. It has peeked my interest and I think it has a good plot to it, even if it’s too early to tell. I feel potential. That’s the good thing at least, seeing the author grow. I want to see the author get better. She already has talent, now I want to see effort and discipline.

All in all this is a hard review to do because the little I can say is: The author has talent for a plot, but grammar is awful. If you’re looking for a spooky summer adventure, I believe this is the story for you.

I ask for author’s to at least give me three chapters to read, not only does this story only have two chapters, but they are extremely short chapters. The author has huge potential, please keep working hard I want to see you become a great writer.

Love Online

Without a doubt this story keeps you guessing. That’s why it’s great. Everything is up to par. A few spelling and grammatical errors, but nothing of huge notice. It was actually impressive. Delivered well and I’m a sucker for internet relationship romances, so I’m definitely hooked. For as many times as this type of romance has been done, this story seems quite original.

The negative is the consistency of chapters. I don’t care if you do two pages or if you do five, just keep each chapter the same length if you can. Doesn’t have to be exact, but don’t make one chapter extremely short and the next extremely long, it will begin to annoy readers.

The author switches from different perspectives quite good, also being in third person I find it impressive how the author keeps it clean and clear. I love the quotes the author decides to put at the beginning of the story. It’s a nice creative touch that puts readers in the mood to read that chapter.

Overall I like this story, I look forward to how the plot will unfold. I’d like to see pacing pick up— or make chapters longer. The story is already in the fourth chapter and the plot hasn’t really gone anywhere. Other than that, if you want an internet romance as much as I do… This is the story for you.

Fiction

Beautifully written. The style the author has is so poetic. I love that; every word in every sentence is perfectly delivered. The emotion, the passion. The plot all seems so addicting and wonderful to see how the life of Daniel, an aspiring writer will work out.

The other thing I love about the author’s style is he truly transfers my mind back to the Victorian England era. I can imagine every detail and I appreciate that, how the author has the talent to bring this story to life. It all seems so real.

What I’d like to see is more effort with updates and organizing it all better. I know the author is still early on in the story, but before you upload chapters be sure to get them organized and keep them the way you want them to be. That’s the only main negative I find.

Other than that, this is an enchanting story I will be looking forward to reading more of. And to find out if the author has more talent in writing other than the style, but in plot. We will see, in any case I recommend this story to anyone looking for an enchanting fantasy that brings you away from reality for at least a little while.

Starstruck On Tuesday

The title isn’t the only thing catchy about this short story. Without a doubt this author is amazingly talented. A great gift for writing that it’s truly admirable. This short story may have not had a real plot to it, but the writing style alone kept me hooked. It is delivered so well that I couldn’t find a thing really wrong with it. For a first written work, it’s amazing.

I’d personally like to see this author do something more. A real novel or a short story filled with a thicker plot. I hate seeing so much talent going to waste. The spelling, grammar, pacing and the way it was delivered all seem to check out to be done so professionally.

At first I didn’t feel like reading a short story, I want to see an author putting all their effort into one piece of work. At least if it’s a short story, I want to see it filled with a good, thick plot. I didn’t find that in this story, but I found a talented author. That I hope I would see published one day… if that is his desire. I hope so. Sad seeing talent wasted.

Caravan

This is a great fantasy web-comic. I recommend to all. I love the plot and the author’s style. The characters stay in character very well. This comic is most impressive for its plot and the updates the author does. That’s appreciated, and again, impressive dedication. Updates five days a week! Although, taking notice of comics that update less…

Their art is better. Why? Probably because they take their days of not updating to practice drawing. This comic will go far. I can honestly say that, but if the author don’t buckle down and get better at their illustration I don’t believe she will find a publisher. Story is to perfection.

Art needs work along with organizing speech balloons. It sometimes was confusing. Even though this has a lot of originality to it, which I love… It reminds me of the TV series, Avatar: The last Airbender. Without a doubt you can say the author was inspired by that series. I can add though at least it wasn’t a huge influence where it shows through glaringly obviously.

We’re still early on in this web-comic series, and I hope to see more of Caravan. If it is dropped I will be disappointed. I doubt it will be. I see a lot of effort and I will expect nothing less than that. I applaud this comic. Looking forward to the unfolding plot and the author’s growth as a writer and artist.

The Mark Of The Beast

Blood-chilling. This is a wicked story and I love it. I usually am not one for Were stories, but this intrigued me. Done very well, it leaves me on edge. Thrilling. Keeps me hooked and reading. I love the plot, seems very original.

Overall it is well written. A few spelling and grammatical mishaps, but nothing of major concern. The three-year old, Rose seems to articulate herself too well for a three-year old. I feel she is out of character. Before her age was revealed I presumed her to be a six-year old. Twice her age so I suggest the author work on delivering characters. And organization.

I can say I like this story in the least. It is interesting, something fresh and I feel it will go far as the plot unfolds. Something new and weird is my cup of tea. Of course that is my opinion, I just so happen to write a paranormal romance as well. So I hope my reviews don’t become biased. Trying to review this with an open-mind, I believe this story needs work overall, but the plot alone makes up for everything. That is all I have to say.

Guardian Revolution

Captivating. That is the first word I think of when reading this story. Anyone into Sci-Fi is sure to love this read. I know I do. It’s something new, something with originality, which I honestly love to see the most. For to have originality in this day and age is hard to do, usually something to compare to or something you find that inspired the story. Here to my knowledge, I do not find that.

The flaw I find is that there’s a bit too much foreshadowing. A spoiler in the story itself; making me feel like I know what’s going to happen. Even with that being I feel this could be the next bestseller, a renowned blockbuster. It truly peeks my interest.

The author’s writing style I admire though. She chooses the perfect choice of words, how she delivers it. The pacing is good, as well. This story is unique, especially the prologue. It could be something that stands by itself, you can feel the emotion of the main character asking questions into her own mind. I like that. It’s unique. The prologue was good, explained enough without giving the plot away, but the author has that downfall in later chapters.

Other than that this story is bloody brilliant. I want to see this as a bestseller one day in the Fantasy/Science Fiction section. Let’s at least get a Watty Award for this author. I honestly will recommend this story to anyone.

Against the Odds

This story is splendid. This story is historical fiction set in what I believe to be 18th century London— year undetermined quite yet. In any case, this story follows the life of two young women. A noble woman and a homeless woman on the streets of London.

I have no clue where the author is really, honestly taking this plot— and I usually hate that, when I feel there is no plot, but the author’s writing keeps me reading for I feel the potential and talent spilling from the pages with passion and admirable dedication.

There is hardly anything I have to critique on this story… Perhaps, paragraphs could be broken up more, but other than that I love this story. The style of the writer I truly admire. The dark, forbid feeling I get reading word for word keeps hooking me and it fits so well. So much I wish to find out. I hope the story stays at this good pacing and unfolds to have these girl’s lives collide. Very interesting, I want to see some action, plot twists.

The mystery and even small things— like the author giving her characters the proper accent in their words— makes this story all the more real feeling. And I appreciate that. The effort put into the story at every detail. It is still early on in the story, yet I am so impressed. This is a story I will recommend to anyone.

Stay

A cute romance. Emotions are portrayed nicely, and switching perspectives is done well. I applaud the writers ability how she delivers a High School romance so well. I’m hard to please when it comes to these teenage romances. They’re hard to write without getting too cheesy. Keeping them realistic and this I feel is pretty good as far as realism is concerned. I can relate with it actually.

Grammar and spelling needs work. Paragraphs need to be broken up. Also, I’d appreciate longer chapters, they’re way too short, but I won’t complain because it’s a good story… for a High School romance that is. I like the story, but could be better if the author was more descriptive with the surroundings and characters.

The author gets better at being descriptive as the story goes on, but still readers are clueless about what the characters really look like. I like this romance though; it’s cute and keeps me hooked. Who will the protagonist choose? He popularity or the guy that will make her lose her popularity and fake friends? Seems like an easy choice, but not to the protagonist.

So I recommend it. If you want a good teenage romance, about popular girl choosing between geek or chic. Than this is the story for you. It has much potential and if the author works on her writing ability I honestly believe this could become a popular teenage romance.

His Sunglasses

A good story, but depends on who is reading. Personally this isn’t the kind of romance I enjoy, it feels slowly paced and I just want to get to the plot already. This story needs cliffhangers and plot twists. It has potential, but hasn’t impressed me yet. Besides the author’s wonderful style, the story itself doesn’t interest me.

There seems to be little to no plot to this at all. That, I believe, is more my personal opinion since this High School romance rather bores me. For a fact, the author needs to be more descriptive sooner about her characters. I barely can connect an image to the characters in the first few chapters.

I find it cute how we look at both perspectives of Ashton and Amelia, but it is also boring reading over the same thing twice, just from a different perspective. Another thing is, yes, there is a plot. One that seems so predictable that Ashton falls in love with Amelia because she’s the only girl that plays hard to get and she will be the one that blows his cover of him working at a coffee shop. I’ll find out though.

Nonetheless it’s a cute romance, I was still able to read so I admit it’s good. The writer has talent. That I can’t deny. The way the author delivers it and on some fronts the descriptiveness has great style. Can admire that without a doubt. I like the author’s style of writing. If you’re looking for a High School romance I recommend this story.

A Battle of Heirs

First off, I must say how I extremely love historical fiction. This story however… I cannot say if I love it or if I hate it. I’m saying it is too soon to tell. I believe the author has potential, without a doubt. I’m letting the author know I will not go easy on him/her— or any author for that matter, when it comes to historical fiction.

You have to do your research. As much as I like the originality of this plot. I also appreciate when authors do their research about REAL historical events. It shows effort and dedication and that’s what I like to see.

There’s spelling and grammatical errors that need fixing. It is also very dry, needs a lot more detail and passion. I feel little to no passion, sadly. Also I feel it would be better if written in first person. This story— or this writer— needs to find their style and I don’t believe writing in third person is good for this story. As of now you read it like a history textbook and I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. I believe majority of readers will see it as bad.

I have nothing more to say. All I can hope is that this story will get better. As said, it is too soon to tell. This story has caught my interest and I look forward to the potential that I see in this story and the author. Interesting plot, I recommend it to those interested in Camelot and King Arthur.

The Heartless Winter

This will put a knot in your stomach. This will put you on the edge of your seat with the romantic tragedy that is all mystery. This is an unbelievably sad romance that leaves you breathless… And impressed. The emotion the author puts into the narrator is exquisite. Emotional plot overall and I love how descriptive the author was with it all.

I would have never have guessed where the author would take the plot. It kept me hooked for it’s far from predictable. Simply amazing. It is a romance like Romeo & Juliet. A true classic, but the author knows how to add her own originality to it. That alone I admire and applaud. I also like the paranormal sides of the story.

Only thing wrong with this is a few small spelling errors and paragraphs that needed not to be separated. The final page was a bit confusing when it started to repeat what was on the first page, but I personally think it was a creative touch. Other than that the only sad thing is that it’s a short story. You crave more from this author. To pack so much plot and emotion into a short story is impressive.

When you start to read this, it’s not like other stories where you figure out what will happen after a few paragraphs. The hints in this story are so indirect it leaves you wondering what happened to his lover. He tells us he killed her when really he… Go read it for yourself. It will leave you guessing until the last sentence.

Leon's Story

This is a short story that will hook you until you sadly finish the story and realize you read it too fast. This is a story that could be turned into so much more, yet is perfect as is.  The description is beautiful. So profound and poetic like for a story. Everything planned well and emotions portrayed the best I can imagine. The author’s talent is admirable.

It reeks of dedication, and is inspiring the vivid emotions the author gives the characters so subtly. It is so poignantly mysterious and stunning. The mystery drags you in to keep reading to understand what has happen. Though, you wouldn’t keep reading if not for the writers amazing figurative writing that is so gripping.

However, there are some spelling and grammatical errors that need to be fixed. As beautifully and well done this story is, as perfect as it may seem… It is not. Another thing I didn’t like was the switching of point of views. It should have been just Leon who narrated. Also, the author needs to add something in to separate the flashback from present day. It can be confusing, but I still was able to follow it all.

In any case, I love the sad mystery and how indirect it is. Makes you want to find out what Leon did and what happened to his sister. Even though the author hints to us what happened, it still wasn’t outright direct in telling us. This story could be so much more, makes you want to keep reading, but you can be satisfied with this short story because it is packed with so much talent.

Domain Tnemrot

This is a webcomic set in the future where slaves of the rich are made to fight each other in arenas. There is a resistance trying to stop the slavery and that’s how this plot gets interesting. At first I thought this comic would be boring and too much action. For there is always a gladiator-like battle going on, but if you keep reading you’ll see there is a brilliant plot behind all the action.

Dae, the protagonist is a former free man but now a slave to his master, a young girl named Mia. He is entered into the gladiator games that the rich use to entertain themselves. During his first fight he meets Angel, who asks him to kill her so she can escape her sadistic master. Dae pretends to kill her, but really just helped Angel escape by faking her murder. Angel now stays with Mia and Dae, but her master knows she’s alive and is willing to do anything to get her back.

The great thing about this comic, beside the plot, is the dedication put into it by its creators. The art is amazing and it updates Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Something I can appreciate in the webcomic world. These are artists with great work and drive to keep doing it.

The bad thing about the illustration is that it is heavily influenced by the manga, Bleach. The second I looked at the pages of Domain Tnemrot I thought, “Looks like a Bleach page”. I don't want to think that. The artwork is top notch, very well drawn, but… Get some originality. I hate seeing such a professionally done story show little originality in its artwork. Other than that… If you’re looking for an action-packed comic with some romance and humor. Check out Domain Tnemrot

Carciphona

This is a fantasy comic and the illustration is absolutely amazing... along with the plot, of course. I even appreciate that on the comic’s website you are reading it like an actual Japanese manga; reading from right to left. A very professionally done comic. Carciphona is very much fantasy set in an alternate universe where demon magic is used. Interesting plot that is worth the read.

However, even though I really enjoy this story and like how it’s set at a faster pace considering fantasies tend to be a tad slow starting out, in most cases. You know…
The whole fantasy world and its history has to be explained before the reader can get right to reading the actual story. This happens in Carciphona, too, but it’s not extensively. Very well done, sometimes hard for readers to understand when you dump tons of info about the fictional world you created on them. This will continue at good pacing.

The illustration is extremely great, but is hard to follow at times. With the author having such an amazing skill at coloring I believe she should have taken the effort to color her comic pages. Also, I think that the volumes could be summed up better and character’s development was too rushed. The dramatic changes weren’t appealing, particularly for Veloce, the main character, who should have grown in a slower manner. Keeps me hooked though to see what makes Veloce tick.

Overall it’s a wonderful story and I recommend it to anyone. If you’re looking for a manga with strong women, action, fantasy and great quality art… This is the story for you.

Ponder Me This

A wonderful philosophical read. A modern rant about the human condition, the author is a great writer and her ideas are what the world needs to hear. I agree with her and love how she puts it in all perspectives. Very creative and the topics she discusses keeps me coming back to see what she rants about next. She rants and always delivers it well. Doesn’t even feel like a rant how she expresses herself… for she expresses her opinions so professionally.

I can feel her frustrations, for they are the same as mine. Though you hardly feel at all that she is frustrated with humanity. You notice it more in later pieces, but still presented very well. She presents her work so well with even a wit about her that makes her serious points enjoyable to read.

The only thing I didn’t like is that I wish it were a bit more organized. Stick to one topic within one chapter. Not going off into other topics. I prefer to analyze something completely and fully instead of leading to several other points. Maybe I’m blind to see that everything is connected. One thing leads to another, but still being, that is the only thing I would change.

Overall I love this piece of work and the author’s points. She really makes you look at the world in new light. A new perspective and I enjoy that. Seeing an open-minded individual such as herself trying to open the minds of others.

Brood Knight

Brood Knight

 http://www.drunkduck.com/BK_Shattered_Hate/4771071/

http://www.drunkduck.com/BK_Shadow_Nemesis/4806632/

Brood Knight: Shattered Hate and Brood Knight: Shadow Nemesis is another, earlier comic series by kYuPoL that I have also enjoyed. It is a thrilling and dramatic fantasy comic with a brilliant plot. Something I believe that any bullied teenager can relate to. It’s come a long way, and I love feeling the emotion that was put into this series.

Personally, I prefer MAG-ISA versus Brood Knight, because Brood Knight is without a doubt more juvenile. Something I expect from a webcomic, but it is better than the majority of webcomics by a long run. For its plot that kept me hooked. So many scenes that make me wonder which way the plot will go and what happened to these characters in their past. Too bad I’ll never know…

The negatives I find about Brood Knight is that its art needed improving and that it is another comic that was left hanging. If I had read this first, I would have not carried on to the author’s present work MAG-ISA for the thought that would sneak into my mind that he was an author that left his work hanging. Shattered Hate is worth the read, but I’m sad to see Shadow Nemesis, Shattered Hate’s sequel was stopped in any case.

Nonetheless, I recommend it. It was a wonderful read, not only for its interesting plot, but to see how much the author had matured from Brood Knight to MAG-ISA. Read for yourself. See which one you like better.

MAG-ISA

MAG-ISA

There’s so much I could say about MAG-ISA. This comic series has most impressed me and I recommend you give it a read. I believe it is something any angst-filled and out-casted individual can relate to. I love it. Even the simplest summary such as, “A comic about a loner, an angel, and a cult that wants to build a New World Order”. Still got me interested. I admire the dedication of seeing a webcomic that is ongoing. Not just something that is shallow and left hanging by the second chapter.

Some say it is melodramatic, but I think it is pure genius. The passion just reeks from the pages and that’s what I like to see in a story; where you can feel the author’s own emotions shine through.

I also enjoy seeing how the art improves as it goes along. Seeing the author find that style and how he grows with his comic and characters. The anime/semi-realistic style the author has is really beautiful and unique. Both plot and illustration, from the beginning you can see the potential.

The only main negative I find is that I’d appreciate updates more frequent. Especially during fight scenes. Because an epic fight scene gets boring when you wait days only to see just a bad guy getting punched again. It makes a fast, epic fight feel like it’s going slow. Slow is boring, but on the other hand…

If you love to read something that is philosophical, political, spiritual, supernatural, dramatic, with a little humor and romance thrown in… This is the comic for you. The author kYuPoL balances it all amazingly well. No other webcomic, that I have read, has ever portrayed life as MAG-ISA has. To open your eyes to what the human condition really is with a nice fictional touch. I personally would like to see more comics like MAG-ISA, something that is profound such as this. For whoever hates this comic, I believe is out of touch with reality and all the more proves… We need more comics such as this.
